Not every flight from Madrid to Hong Kong takes the same path right now.
1 of 3 routes rated Flowing. Via London is the strongest current option.
Via London — clean airspace routing, with moderate detour impact and reasonable hub reliability.
Cleanest airspace option for MAD→HKG. BA to London connects with Cathay's Central Asian routing to Hong Kong — neither leg touches the Middle East advisory zone.
LHR connection requires a terminal transfer and a minimum of 2–2.5 hours. BA MAD–LHR is a short hop (~2.5h) — ensure adequate connection time for luggage and terminal transit.
Strong middle option. Turkish Airlines MAD→IST→HKG avoids the Middle East advisory zone on both legs and is more time-efficient than the via-London routing.
Emirates via Dubai provides strong frequency and premium hub quality for MAD→HKG, but the outbound MAD–DXB leg crosses the active Middle East advisory zone.

FlightDetour evaluates route options using advisory airspace exposure, corridor sensitivity, detour impact, and hub routing logic — based on publicly available EASA and national authority advisories.
Coverage focuses on major long-haul corridors. Some routing patterns — including certain China-side connections via mainland Chinese hubs — are not yet included. If you expect an option here and don't see it, that's a coverage gap, not an assessment.
Scores compare corridor quality; they do not predict airline operations or safety outcomes. Verify with your airline and government travel advisories before booking.
