Syrian Airspace Advisory

● Active Flight Warning

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Airlines are told not to fly over Syria at any altitude. This warning has stood since 2017.

Syria has been off-limits to commercial flights for years. European regulators tell airlines not to operate over the country at any height, because several militaries are active there and air-defence systems have mistaken civil aircraft for targets before. This is one of the longest-standing no-fly warnings in the region, and airlines route around Syria as a matter of course.
