Official notice: EASA CZIB-2017-08R19 ↗ · in force until January 31, 2027

Airlines are told not to fly in Afghan airspace below 32,000 feet. Flights above that height are outside the warning.

European regulators tell airlines not to operate in Afghanistan's airspace below 32,000 feet. Extremist groups there remain active and can target aircraft, including with shoulder-fired missiles, and Pakistani air strikes across the border add to the chance of military activity with little warning. Air traffic services are missing or limited across the country, so crews have little support if something goes wrong. The advice stops at that height: flights above it are outside the warning.
